Johnnycake fundraiser to feature psychic

WESTERLY — Elizabeth Pasqualini doesn’t claim to be a psychic, but she sees a successful fundraiser in the Jonnycake Center’s immediate future.
The Jonnycake Center, which provides a variety of services to people in need, will be holding a unique fundraiser at The Twisted Vine on Wednesday. What started as one of several dine-for-a-cause fundraisers that the center holds each year to raise money and awareness is being billed as a psychic dinner starring psychic Jodi-Lynn of the Mystic’s Touch in Coventry.

Pasqualini, the Jonnycake Center’s executive director, said the idea for the fundraiser came from Pat Isted, owner of The Twisted Viine. When Pasqualini approached Isted about holding a fundraiser at her Canal Street wine-and-food bar, Isted suggested they do something different.
And this will be something different. For $45, guests will receive a three-course prix fixe dinner and a reading from Jodi-Lynn. (The reading may be individual or in groups; the evening’s format hasn’t been decided yet.)
“She came highly recommended,” Pasqualini said of Jodi-Lynn. “It’s not like we cracked the yellow pages.”
Jodi-Lynn described what she does a mediumship, communicating with departed loved ones to help those who are still here.
“Like hospice in reverse,” she explained.
It can be difficult to explain, she said, and suggested people check out her website at jodi-lynn.com for more information.
“I have been called a medium, but I like the term ‘spiritual sensitive’ because I was given this wonderful gift to give those who are left behind comfort and validation from those who have already crossed over,” she noted on her website. “I am NOT a fortune teller, but a guidance counselor of sorts.”
Over the phone, she described herself as “a mom with a gift. That’s it.”
Tickets may be purchased at the Jonnycake Center, 23 Industrial Drive, The Twisted Vine, 3 Canal St., or on the Jonnycake Center’s website at jonnycake.org/events/psychic-dinner-the-twisted-vine. The dinner is limited to 50 seats.
“There’s been a great response,” Pasqualini said. “I’m thinking there might be other psychic dinners coming up.”
